Joint Student Chapter Meeting / Awards Banquet

Town Hall Style Engagement & Awards Presentations

This month’s Buffalo Section meeting is a joint meeting with the ASCE UB Student Chapter, Buffalo Section of ASCE. We will be honoring students and professionals with scholarships and awards for their accomplishments and outstanding contributions to civil engineering.

In addition, we are proud to introduce a Town Hall Meeting with a panel of professionals from many disciplines in the industry. The panel has been tasked with explaining their civil engineering discipline in 5 minutes or less and the associated responsibilities they had from years 1-5, 6-10 and beyond. Students will be seated at tables designated with the specific disciplines, will listen to the professionals explanation and then be allowed to reposition themselves to be seated at the table they feel best suites their career goals. The professionals will join the students at the discipline specific tables and engage in conversation during dinner.
After the awards presentation if warranted the panel will reconvene to address additional questions from the students.

ASCE UB Student Chapter leaders will also provide a 10 minute update on the activities of the Student Chapter and the upcoming Regional Conference April 14-16th.
